Usually at fashion events, I’m more than eagerly awaiting snapping the attendees, but I had my eyes elsewhere this time. Once you see Mary Katrantzou’s designs you become captivated, as was the case at the event held at The Room this past Thursday. A darling of the fashion world, fresh on the scene but a few years, she’s already made her mark and is being worn on the bodies of the most fashionable tastemakers that includes Anna Dello Russo. What a treat it was to have such a game changer in Vancouver for an evening of luxe with her a collection of the most extravagant fall runway pieces. This was art, and mannequins played the frame. A humble and beautifully approachable young woman, it was but a delight to meet her and have a feast for the eyes.
