Buyer - M for Mendocino M for Mendocino is seeking an experienced, motivated and product focused buyer looking to take a successful and expanding Toronto based women’s retail business to the next level. The successful candidate will work with management and store staff to develop and execute strategies and identify opportunities that will build a strong commodity mix helping to surpass the division’s financial objectives. Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills along with the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment are a must. Job Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): • Provide business analysis of product sales weekly to track selling, identify key trends and maximize opportunities in the product mix developing plans in order to achieve continued growth and profitability of the retail business. • Aggressively drive the business by identifying opportunities and developing action plans to maximize best results through re-orders, promotional strategies, as well as challenging business partners and status quo. • As a member of the buying team develop and execute seasonal plans, open-to-buy, merchandising and promotional strategies. • Accountable for sales, inventory turns, gross profit margin results and profitability. • Source and approve product for regular and seasonal programs and opportunity buys. Job Requirements: • Minimum 5 years of retail buying experience in women’s fashion, branded buying is an asset • Minimum, Bachelor’s Degree • Literate in all Microsoft Office programs • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills • Self motivated • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment • Availability for frequent travel is a must • Strong negotiation, relationship building and communication skills • Source new products, branded and private label, in the best quality to be delivered to customers at the best prices • Develop and execute merchandise financial plans on a quarterly basis • Maintain and develop knowledge of fashion trends and ideas in the fashion industry to help select vendors to develop and source product If you’re looking for a challenge, have a strong passion for buying women’s fashion and would like to be a part of the M for Mendocino team please reply to: M for Mendocino 496 Gilbert Ave Toronto, ON M6E 4X5 Email: hrdept@mendocino.ca
