ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES
The Manager will assist Principal with business development and on-going management as it relates to:
Client relationship management
Assisting principal in the development of new business opportunities
Assisting principal with internal operations (inclusive of staff management and development and refining general office operations and systems).
The Manager will assist Principal with the creation and development of PR strategies.
The Manager, will use PR strategies to drive media relations for set list of clients inclusive of:
Building and managing relationships with the press and media (traditional and online) including event attendance and presence in the various markets we work in.
Creative development of content
Pitching and distribution
Coordination of interviews, product placement and photo shoots
Organization and execution of event based promotions
Tracking, measuring and reporting outcomes for each client.
The Manager will plan, lead, assist and provide structure for junior staff to achieve the above listed outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in communications or PR/communications diploma from an accredited college or university
Minimum of three (3) to (5) years of experience working within a reputable PR agency or in an internal management level role
Experience developing PR and media strategies and experience pitching stories across various media types including social media
Possess a close network of editors, writers, and bloggers within established media
Leadership and teamwork skills as well as verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to work well in fast-paced, dynamic environments that require strong project management and “juggling” skills
Must have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, be a self-starter and be able to work independently with minimal direction
Must be able to present and explain a portfolio of releases, proactive pitches, blogs, or other written communications and/or strategic PR and media plans used in the past
