Seeking keen and aspiring individuals to be a Public Relations Representative for Vancouver Fashion Week (VFW). Established over a decade ago, VFW has grown to become the most important fashion event on the West Coast. Taking place in March 2012, we are in midst of preparations for the next fashion week and positions are available for the upcoming Fall/Winter 2012 Fashion Week. Vancouver Fashion Week is an organization that is committed to its employees, and dedicated in growing and improving in every organizational aspect. The Public Relations Representative will be responsible for assisting with a variety of public relations and communications tasks, including but not limited to: Drafting press releases and media materials Managing external communications Developing an overall PR strategy Securing and liaising with foreign and domestic media outlets (existing media partners and new) Help with promotion of show and designers in local and international media and communities The ideal candidates will meet the following requirements: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Strong work ethic and desire to achieve Professional attitude Ability to meet strict deadlines Excellent leadership abilities Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team Strong desire to be an active part of a dynamic, fast-paced work environment HOURS PER WEEK Full-time or Part-time LOCATION Office in downtown Vancouver WEBSITE http://www.vanfashionweek.com If this sounds like an opportunity that you're interested in, please send your resume and cover letter to francis@vanfashionweek.com and info@vanfashionweek.com .
