Our Merchandising teams are the special link between Product and Retail. They bring the designer’s vision to life in our stores, telling the seasonal story to our customers. Overseeing stores across Canada and the United States, merchandisers work closely with retail, design, product development and buying to execute the creative and business merchandising strategy in the stores each season. Our teams strive to deliver a visual merchandising presentation that sets our stores as the premier destination for fashion and lifestyle apparel in the junior and contemporary women’s wear market.
This is an amazing opportunity for you to lead the visual merchandising strategy in our stores. We are looking for a passionate Senior Director of Merchandising who is able to interpret the design vision, set the merchandising strategy for sales and brand in our stores, manage a large team of visual merchandisers and lead all merchandising special events. This position could be based out of New York City, Vancouver, or Toronto.
•Develop the retail merchandising strategy for each season
•Partner with the Inventory Control and Logistics departments to ensure each store has the right items at the right time to maximize sales
•Consult with the Planning and Inventory Control departments to provide store insight on the right breadth product assortment in the right quantity and at the right price
•Work collaboratively with the Design, Product Development and Styling departments to carry through the design vision for each collection and translate it in store for the customer
•Execute the creative vision, propel the brand and maximize business opportunities through visual merchandising in all stores
•Maintain the stores though exceptional visual merchandising maintenance standards and store design environment
•Hire, develop and lead the team of merchandisers
•Develop a talent pipeline for other areas of the business, namely the Product Division
•Participate on behalf of the Merchandising Department in relevant Product meetings and provide feedback based on retail observations and business objectives
•Partner with Retail Directors on all cross functional Retail meetings and initiatives
•Partner with the other Senior Leaders within the Merchandising Department to achieve consistency nationally and internationally
•Lead all merchandising special events including new store openings, holiday and clientele events
•Manage multiple complex priorities at any given time
•Proven background in visual merchandising and interpreting a creative and brand direction
•Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate, lead and inspire a team remotely
•Ability to drive bottom line results with entrepreneurial business merchandising skills
•Excellent communication skills to work with various teams
•Excellent sense of style
•Comprehensive understanding of the target market’s aesthetic

•Reports to: VP, Planning
•Works Closely With: Retail, Design, Product Development & Buying, Store Design, Marketing
•Also Interfaces With: various external vendors
