Vancouver Fashion Jobs – Valentine’s Day for the Single Gal

Tuesday, February 12th, 2013

Trailing the heels of our Valentine’s Day gift guides, we thought we would switch it up and show you the best way to celebrate the evening as a single girls’ holiday, dressed to impress. Think brave, bold, embellished and most of all fun. For a night out on the town, classic wardrobe pieces like a LBD and statement jewellery go a long way. Opt for old school glamour to channel a romantic vibe, updated with youthful details and frills to keep the look fun and flirty. Incorporate twists on the traditional romantic red, with pieces like Talula’s Yula dress in ‘Lobster’ from Aritzia, or Zara’s gathered shoulder jacket in coral. This year, drinks and dinner with your closest crew never looked better – just make sure to finish the look with a killer pair of heels.

Montreal Fashion Jobs – Edinburgh Envy

Friday, January 18th, 2013

Tartan has shown up repeatedly this Fall on everything from scarves to leggings, but Karl Lagerfeld’s spin on Scotland’s style for Chanel Pre-Fall 2013 has influenced this season’s wares beyond the nation’s print. The Kaiser ensconced his models in chunky knits and lavish tweeds, dominated by innovative Fair Isle, tartan and argyle pairings.

To channel this look, forego the less-is-more adage, and iterate Lagerfeld’s insouciant approach to excess: luxe fabrics, like Zara’s pearl embellished velvet jacket, gilt costume jewelry and texturized knits all make fine pairings for the lavish look.
