Neon isn’t just for all-night parties. For the neutral-loving girl, bright accessories are the easiest way to add colour to your look. Pops of neon—whether it’s a purse, bangle, or pair of heels—perfectly complement a little black dress or a casual jeans-and-tee ensemble. Vancouver Fashion Jobs – Garden Love

Flowers: bright, cheery, and hitting retailers again this year. Florals are here to stay, and there are some specific tips for those of you who aren’t big into pattern but are willing to change things up this spring/summer.

Tips: Here’s the thing about floral print, not all prints will be right for you. If you’re bottom-heavy, try to avoid floral denim unless it’s in dark tones. If you’re top-heavy, you should avoid bold printed floral blouses. The 70s inspired floral pattern is the ‘It” floral this year. A few of years ago it was all about the ditzy floral print, but these days, the bolder, the brighter, the better. Always remember to keep it simple ladies, a bold floral means simple accessories and not too much pattern mixing, soft stripes and small polka dots will work, in small doses!

Have fun with the bright colours this year, and check out the listed retailers for a beautiful arrangement of floral patterned pieces. Green thumb not required, but your eye for style is!

1. Citizens of Humanity Floral Thompson, $185, available at Anthropologie
2. Bordered Lobelia Bikini, $78, available at Anthropologie

3. Fluro Foral Print Corset, $58, Topshop

4. Chiffon Wrap Cami, $25, available at American Eagle

Instead of spending hours combing through store after store for a perfect summer dress, save yourself some time and effort and make just one stop this year – Banana Republic. The consistently fashion-forward clothing line has launched its most inclusive and desirable signature summer dress collection to date. The collection boasts more than 70 beautiful and unique dresses, with the price points ranging from $69.50 to $298.00 (and good news, most are under $100.00!).

Befitting its seasonal inspirations, the collection is filled with exotic prints, bold solids, and a prismatic array of vivid and tropical colours. Not only are the prints and colours exactly what one would want in a summer dress collection, but the fabrics are both summer-appropriate and inherently luxurious: fine linens, silks, and cottons add to the lightness and ease of the pieces. The other bit of good news is that regardless of what event you are dressing for, the collection has a dress for each occasion.

Though we may not be experiencing the warmest of temperatures at the moment, take a cue from the fabulous fashion blogger Blair of Atlantic-Pacific in the picture above who threw a light military-inspired jacket over her Banana Republic Monogram dress. With the easy addition of some warm-weather pieces, these beautiful summer dresses will carry you well into the summer, at which point you can finally get rid of the jackets!

If you’re in nearly any major city then you undoubtedly have a Banana Republic nearby, but should the store be out of reach for you, visit Banana Republic’s online store! Happy shopping!
