Canadian Fashion Careers – Printed Shorts

While traditional blue jean shorts are a summer style staple year after year, it’s all about printed pairs this season. From bright floral prints to unique geometric shapes to wild animal patterns, printed shorts are a stylish way to add a bold statement to your warm-weather outfits.

What I love about this trend is that you can achieve a variety of different looks simply by changing your top. If you want your shorts to function as a statement piece, pair them with a solid coloured top and simple accessories. If you’re going for a more edgy look, treat your printed shorts as a neutral by pairing them with a cool graphic tee. If you want to rock the mixed-prints trend, pair your shorts with a differently patterned top. For example, wear a pair of floral printed shorts with a black and white striped t-shirt.

When paired with the right tops and accessories, printed shorts have the ability to take your look from casual to dressed up instantly. Swap a slouchy graphic tee for a classic white button-down for a more tailored daytime look, or add a pair of strappy heels and a fitted blazer for a night out on the town.

Yellow is a standout shade that instantly draws the eye, so it can be a bit tricky to work into your wardrobe. Pale yellow is infinitely wearable, while bright, richly pigmented yellows are a bolder choice. Because it’s such a noticeable colour, you must choose the other shades of your outfit with care. Black on yellow immediately screams bumblebee or taxicab, but white and denim perfectly offset yellow’s bright nature. Choose a standout piece like a shirt or sundress, or add a small pop of colour with yellow accessories. Either way, you’re sure to shine under the sun.

Montreal Fashion Jobs – Going To The Chapel

Wedding season is upon us, and if you’re not the bride or a bridesmaid it can be tricky to choose just the right ensemble. These flirty frocks are wedding-appropriate and still let you shine. Even if the ceremony isn’t in a religious venue, you should try to avoid anything too provocative, but that doesn’t have to mean dowdy. Longer hemlines are uber-flattering when paired with a fitted silhouette, and 50s and 60s-inspired styles are cute and feminine without showing too much skin.

Toronto Fashion Jobs – Comfort vs. Fashion

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

Spring is one of those strange seasons that never stays consistent. We face high and low temperatures, muddy walk ways and likely an abundance of rain. Through all of the confusion when it comes to the weather how do we stay stylish while fighting the ever changing elements? Fear not, there are several key pieces that will keep you looking good while you stay warm or dry.

Fighting the Rain:

Umbrellas are your new best friend. With endless patterns and colours, there is bound to be an option for every wardrobe. Be sure to look around the check out line at your favourite stores as that is where umbrellas are usually placed.

Be One With the Mud:

When there is rain and no snow, there is going to be a ton of mud. Rain boots are an obvious bet for the rain but they also come in handy if you happen to find yourself in a muddy situation. Check out some of the fun options below to avoid getting dirty.

3. Coach Tasha Rainboots, USD $128
