Fashion Jobs – Weekend Away: Country Vs. City

Wednesday, May 8th, 2013

I’m always inspired by Joe Zee’s posts for ELLE – he has an intuitive and witty approach to styling various occasions’ different ways. His outfits cover everything from baseball games, to first interviews or mom time, which got me thinking about how to style various activities for Summer. In the coming months, long weekends compose many of our mini escapes, and whether a weekend away means jetting to New York, Toronto, or Seattle, or hitting your country cottage or cabin, you will inevitably want to compose a look that meets the needs of your chosen locale. I’ve dreamed up two juxtaposing ensembles for two disparate trips – one for the sightseeing city vacation, and the other for country living. See my picks for each respective jaunt to ensure you are one happy camper, or happy city dweller.

Vancouver Fashion Jobs – Cool Weather Sunglasses

Wednesday, October 10th, 2012

Fully clad in Fall fashions and adjusting to the cooler weather, these days it can be tempting to set aside those stand-by-me staple accessories of the warmer months and not look back. Before you find yourself focused solely on scarves and chic hats to compliment the Winter winds, keep in mind, however, that a stylish pair of season-appropriate sunglasses can be just the trick to complete your outfits this transitional time of year. Fashionable and functional, the right pair of sunglasses will not only keep you looking flawless, they will also protect your eyes from what can be a deceiving time for weather – after all, cold days don’t necessarily mean no more sun, and as any truly Canadian girl knows, the glare of the snow can be downright blinding. Timeless, modern or trendy, we have sunglass selections to cover your bases – and your pretty eyes – no matter what look you are rocking.

Timeless:

1. J.Crew Selima Sun Lou Sunglasses, $134

2. Ray-Ban Wayfarer, $ 250, available at The Sunglass Hut

Modern:
3. Burberry Oversized Rounded Frame Sunglasses, $252
4. Marc by Marc Jacobs Oversized Metal Aviator Sunglasses, $100, available at Shopbop

Finally, classic summer accessories like white sneakers, woven bracelets and sunglasses complete the look of cool well-dressed man – no matter what the temperature.

1. Ray-Ban Clubmaster, $144 USD, available at Sunglass Hut
2. HNDSM Kilimanjaro Bracelet, $110, available at Nomad
3. Ben Sherman ECI Chino: Original Stretch Slim fit, $129
