Calgary Fashion Jobs – The Fresh Flapper

Monday, May 28th, 2012

Relive the roaring 20s as a fabulous flapper. This modern feminine trend puts the great back into the Great Gatsby by reviving the golden jazz age with art deco inspiration. Designer collections like Gucci, Christian Dior and Alberta Ferretti were reminiscent of the new opulent 20s woman. The glitz and glam of the era can be achieved with drop waist dresses, fringe details, pleats, art deco designs like geometric shapes and lines along with the sparkle and shine of sequins, shimmery fabrics and lustrous metallics. Opt for silhouettes that skim the body as true flapper style has that boyish charm mixed in with flirty, femininity. To reinvent the fresh flapper look it’s all about clothing contours, delicate details and luxe embellishments in soft hues.

So here’s to hearing the 20s roar once more!

Edmonton Fashion Jobs – Joe Fresh Spring

Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

Joe Mirman’s Spring collection, which debuted at Toronto Fashion Week in October, is gearing up to hit stores in April. Bright hues of blue, yellow and neon orange in contrast with stark whites will certainly get you in the mood for the new season early. We’ve got our eye on the leather detailed collars and the bright orange maxi skirt worn by Canadian’s favourite supermodel Coco Rocha of Flare’s February cover. Proof that Joe Fresh is maturing, away from predictable cutesy skirts and dresses and those supermarket staples, making itself known in Canadian and international fashion and retail.

90% of the runway collection will be in standalone Joe Fresh stores in April.
